Sustainable Schools

Small things can make a big difference!

These are some of the small things that we have been doing to try and make a difference in our school family, our families at home and in our community and Global families.

Fenland has the worst recycling rate in Cambridgeshire. What can you do to make a change?

Jonathan Crisp - education officer

Years 4, 5 & 6 have been to the Wisbech recycling centre to find out what happens to our rubbish when we throw it in the bin. We have been thinking about how we can all do more to reduce the rubbish that ends up in landfill. You can read more about this on our class pages and in the newsletter below.

School Year 22-23

This year, we have been busy planting trees on the school field, along with the Fenland Street Pride team and MP Stephen Barclay.

We had an event in November when many parents came along to help plant the new trees and another in February, when Mr Barclay attended.  It was lovely to see such a great turnout, especially considering the wet weather!

Now that the better weather is approaching, we will begin Gardening Club again and aim to grow some vegetables in the school garden.  If any parents/grandparents/carers would like to be involved with the school garden, please speak to Ms Orbell, as extra help is always very welcome!
