Safeguarding
Keeping Every Child Safe, Seen, and Supported
At All Saints Inter-Church Academy, the safety, wellbeing, and dignity of every child is our highest priority. As a Christian school rooted in both Anglican and Catholic traditions, we are committed to providing a safe, nurturing, and protective environment where every pupil can grow, learn, and thrive.
In line with the current Keeping Children Safe in Education statutory guidance, we are fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all our pupils. This includes protecting children from abuse, neglect, exploitation, radicalisation, and any other form of harm.
We actively maintain a strong culture of safeguarding and uphold the belief that safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility. All staff, governors, and volunteers at All Saints are expected to:
-
Place the child’s needs and voice at the centre of all safeguarding practice
-
Be professionally curious, vigilant, and proactive in identifying concerns
-
Respond swiftly and effectively to any worries, using our clear reporting systems
-
Build and sustain positive, trusting relationships with children and families
-
Work in close partnership with external agencies and support services
Our school setting allows us to know each child well, building deep, trusting relationships that support early identification of any issues. We believe that by promoting a 'culture of vigilance', we reduce opportunities for harm and ensure that all pupils feel safe, valued, and listened to.
Training & Safeguarding Responsibilities
All staff at All Saints receive regular and up-to-date training in safeguarding, including:
-
Child protection procedures

Designated Safeguarding Leads
We have a highly trained safeguarding team in place to lead and manage child protection procedures:
-
Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL): Mr M Harrison (Executive Headteacher)
-
Deputy Designated Safeguarding Leads (DDSLs): Mrs S Johnson (Deputy Headteacher), Mrs T Pooley (EYFS Lead) & Mr L Crickwood (Maths Subject Lead)
-
Safeguarding Trustee: Mrs S Conant
These staff are available to offer advice, respond to concerns, and ensure that any child at risk receives swift and appropriate support.
Working in Partnership
We work closely with families and external agencies to promote early help and ensure children receive support before issues escalate. Our approach is child-centred, trauma-informed, and designed to build long-term safety and wellbeing.
Safeguarding is woven into our curriculum, pastoral care, and daily school life. Whether through RSHE, online safety education, or trusted adult networks, we empower pupils with the knowledge and confidence to keep themselves and others safe.
If you have any concerns about a child’s safety, please contact our Designated Safeguarding Lead via the school office.
At All Saints Inter-Church Academy, every child matters — every day.
