Science is all about curiosity, discovery, and asking questions. We want every child to feel like a scientist, exploring the world around them through hands-on learning and enquiry-based activities. No question is too big!
In Key Stage 1, science will focus on practical experiences that spark curiosity. Children will learn through exploration and play, using their senses to observe, compare, and ask questions about everyday phenomena.
Activities will be hands-on and engaging, encouraging children to investigate, experiment, and share what they discover. We aim to build confidence so that every child feels excited to ask, “Why?” and “How?”
In Key Stage 2, science will continue to be enquiry-driven, with children taking a more active role in planning and carrying out investigations. They will learn to predict, test, and evaluate, developing a deeper understanding of scientific concepts through real-life contexts.
Lessons will be interactive and practical, promoting teamwork, problem-solving, and critical thinking. We want children to see science as a way to explore big ideas and understand the world, where curiosity is celebrated and every question matters.
