Gardening Club

 

Gardening Club takes place on a Thursday, after school and is run by Hayley Dolbear and a wonderful team of parent helpers.  Here are just some of the things they have been up to:

 

The Vegetable Plot

In the vegetable plot are: potatoes, carrots, strawberries, onions and garlic. Soon to go in are: courgettes, cauliflowers and brussel sprouts.

 

Wildlife Area

Wild flower seeds have been scattered in the wildlife area, there are bird boxes and the children put out bird seed every Thursday.  There are some laminated bird pictures so that the children can identify the different types of birds. We are looking for an apple and pear tree to plant here.

 

Quiet area
A plan has been made for a sensory area. Grasses have been planted for the 'sound area' and  raspberries, tomatoes and strawberries are being grown for the 'taste section'.  

 

We are extremely grateful to our parent helpers for their dedication and the time they devote to helping us with Gardening Club and Eco School.
